Today is the first official day of golf practice for girls and boys high school teams around the state. The Greene County Rams welcome new girls’ coach Heath Telleen following the retirement of former long time coach Keith Vander Wilt. Dave Destival returns as the boys’ coach.

Greene County Activities Director Dean Lansman told Raccoon Valley Radio that the sunny and warm weather we’ve had should be an advantage to the golfers. “This year we’re fortunate enough that the courses are dry enough that they can get out there and practice on the courses right away. Some years there’s still snow on the ground, so it’ll be good for those kids to get out and play right away.”

The Rams open with the Carroll Tigers on Monday, April 6. The boys play in Carroll while the girls will play at The Hill west of Grand Junction.
