The Guthrie County Department of Public Health has confirmed 1 case of mumps. Public Health Administrator Jotham Arber says mumps is an infectious viral disease that can be prevented by the MMR vaccine, which protects against Measles, Mumps and Rubella. Nearly 95% of Guthrie County residents have received the MMR vaccine.
Arber says symptoms of mumps include fever, headache, loss of appetite and muscle aches. If you or your child is experiencing any of these symptoms, please call your doctor.
