The Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce held their first annual dinner and awards night Tuesday.

“Iowa Boy” Chuck Offenburger served as the night’s keynote speaker and spoke about his experience writing about small towns in Iowa over the past 50 years.  He encouraged Adel businesses to collaborate and work together toward continued success.

One individual and two businesses were then recognized with the Chamber’s inaugural awards.

Rich Hughes was selected as the 2014 Volunteer of the Year for his efforts in organizing the corn tent during the annual Sweet Corn Festival.

The Business Improvement Award went to Adel Family Dentistry for their continued growth and investment in the community.  Finally, Adel and Winterset TV and Appliance was named the Business of the Year for 2014, due to their substantial history of success and positive impact in Adel.

A total of more than 125 people attended the event at Park Place restaurant.
