The girls from Greene County High School travel to Audubon today for their second outdoor track and field meet of the season. This is a non-scoring meet including mostly Class 1A and 2A schools from western and southwest Iowa. Coach Kelly Simpson’s team is coming off Monday’s Greene County Early Bird Meet, which also did not have team score.
The Rams had 12 first place and six second place finishes at Linduska Field, and the coach talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about what his expectations are for the Audubon meet. “We’ll probably mix things up with our returning State qualifiers at this meet. We may take some of the younger kids who ran very, very well on Monday, and give them an opportunity to shine a little bit in some of these relays and see what they can do.”
Teams other than Audubon and Greene County scheduled to be in the field today are AHST (Avoca), EEHK (Elk Horn), Ar-We-Va (Westside), Griswold, Logan-Magnolia, Woodbine, Missouri Valley, Riverside (Oakland), Treynor, Tri-Center (Neola), Underwood, and West Harrison (Mondamin).
