Greene County Community CenterAll Greene County children ages two through five and their parents are invited to attend the tenth annual Toddler Fest in Jefferson this weekend.

Jefferson Children’s Librarian Terry Clark says the event is designed to get young children excited about reading.  This year’s theme is “Reading is all the Buzz,” and there will be over 20 stations at the Greene County Community Center.  Plus there will be balloon creations by Rick Eugene.

Clark talks about the beginning of the very successful event and how its grown a decade later.

“It was kind of a pilot project when we first began it.  But we’re really excited about it because this is a time where we can encourage children to read and to encourage families to come to the library and see what they’re local library has to offer.  The stories that we hear and the things that the parents tell us afterwards about how much their children enjoyed the event, just really makes us want to continue with it year after year.”

It will be from 10am-noon on Saturday, April 11th and it is free.  Toddler Fest is co-sponsored by the Greene County Libraries Association and the Greene County Board of Supervisors.
