The Guthrie Center boys track team showed their inexperience at the Perry Relays last week. The team came in last place and scored just 7 points. Their nearest competition was Des Moines Christian, who had 77 points. Guthrie Center boys track coach Colin Shawgo says the team currently has a couple bright spots and improvement for everyone is key. “The two distance guys Sam (Courtney) and Landon (Foster) to keep getting faster and faster, because they’re on pace to get under five minutes in the mile this week. As far as the rest of the team, I want the sprinters and everyone else to just keep improving.”
The team will be back on the track competing in Coon Rapids-Bayard meet tomorrow night, which is being hosted in Guthrie Center.
