A special speaker will be in Jefferson tomorrow urging youth to make positive choices.

Toni Haefs is from Lamoni, Iowa and will present a program on “CHOICES to YOUTH In Greene County.”

She will talk about her life experiences and how some of her choices negatively impacted her life growing up.  Haefs came from a broken home in Remsen, Iowa which led to low self-esteem and poor choices like drinking and bullying.  She will also use ties to religion that helped her get back to a positive outlook on life.

Wendy Pittman with First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson is excited for the event and adds that everyone who attends will take something positive away that they can use in their own lives.  It will be at the First Presbyterian Church at 6:30pm on Wednesday with the target age group of 5th through 12th graders.  However, the free event is open to the public.
