adel logoThe Adel City Council will meet in regular session this evening.

Items on the agenda include a mayoral proclamation for National Service Recognition Day, along with recognizing Water Superintendent Chuck Bandy for 15 years of service, Police Officer Monte Keller for 15 years of service and Officer Kelly Petrie for 5 years of service.  New City Administrator Anthony Brown will then take his oath of office.

New business items on the agenda include a discussion with Tim Oswald from Piper Jaffray about the City’s debt capacity as it relates to the proposed Main Street paving project and 28E agreement with Dallas County.  The Council will then consider adding the Rapids Street water main replacement project to the State Revolving Fund application.

A school building permit fee reduction request from the Adel DeSoto Minburn Community School District will then be considered, along with two tax abatement applications.  A public hearing in regards to a proposed amendment to the fiscal year 2015 budget will then be set, followed by approval of a snow plow purchase, setting a street laborer and wastewater operator job description and approval of the final plat for Bear Estates.

Preliminary plats for Northwater 2, Timberview West and Midtown Greene will then be considered, along with the retraction of a chicken permit approval at 1506 Main Street, an appointment to the library board, leasing of a new City Hall copier and the fourth payment and change order for the Main Street façade rehabilitation project.

The meeting takes place at 6pm in the Adel City Hall.
