Monday was a good day for ADM golf head coach Chris Goodale, as both the Tiger boys and girls golf teams won their triangular meet against Carlisle and Winterset.

Having had its first scheduled competition on Thursday wiped out by weather, a deeply talented and anxious bunch of ADM boys golfers did not disappoint in their season debut Monday, winning the three-way meet at Lakeview Country Club by more than 30 strokes. The Tigers took first with a 156, followed by Carlisle at 188 and Winterset at 190.

ADM was lead by a three-way tie for first between sophomore Jacob Schumaker and seniors Brody Boston and Joe Vest, who all shot a meet-low 38. Senior Ben Sandquist rounded out the Tigers’ scorers with a 42.

The girls team also won handily. ADM shot a 176, Carlisle was next at 209 and Winterset last at 256. Senior Lexi Owen metaled by shooting a 40, followed closely by fellow senior Taylor Born’s 42. Nikki Bever and Tania Teleford tied for 3rd with a 47.

Both ADM golf teams are back in action on Thursday. The boys have a varsity tournament in Woodward that begins at 3:15 p.m., while the girls will take on Dallas-Center Grimes at Beaver Creek Golf Course at 4 p.m.
