A deputy checked an abandoned vehicle on N Avenue and 210th Street. The vehicle was later towed from the roadway.

A deputy was dispatched to a reported car in the ditch at the Highway 4 curve and 140th Street. After an investigation, the deputy issued a citation to Chloe R Russell 19, of Omaha, Nebraska for Failure to Maintain Control. Russell was not injured and the damage estimate was unreportable.

A deputy was advised of a vehicle that was experiencing mechanical problems on Neola Avenue, 6 miles south of Jefferson. The vehicle was in the process of being towed at the time of the call.

The Chief Deputy Sheriff, a deputy, a Jefferson Police Officer and personnel from the Greene County Emergency Medical Services all responded to an emergency medical call in the 300 block of North Maple Street in Jefferson.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office was advised by a resident in the 300 block of Madison Street in Scranton, of a small child that had wandered onto their property. The mother was reunited with the child before the deputy’s arrival.

Three members of the Sheriff’s office assisted a probation officer with a probation search of a residence in the 900 block of Grant Street in Scranton.

A deputy and a DOT Enforcement Officer responded to a reported single vehicle accident on D Avenue near 110th Street. Philip Edward Shaw 46, of Des Moines, was northbound on D Avenue, when his 1996 GMC K 3500 pickup truck pulling a gooseneck trailer loaded with 10 large round bales of hay went into the east ditch. Shaw was not injured but his truck and trailer were estimated to be a total loss. Philip Shaw was issued multiple citations from the DOT Officer.

Two Greene County Deputies were asked to help locate a runaway juvenile from Grand Junction. The female was located walking near Grand Junction and transported to the Greene County Law Enforcement Center to be picked up by her biological mother.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
