jefferson welcomeThe Jefferson City Council will meet tonight.

The Council will consider for approval lift station repairs to four lift stations as recommended by the Sewer Department, purchasing a $50,650 Hydrovac machine for the Water Department that can bore holes in the ground without damaging any underground utilities, waiving a building permit fee for Habitat for Humanity and allowing the fire department to obtain an Iowa Department of Natural Resources permit to burn the house at 107 South Olive Street for training.

The Council will also review bids and consider awarding a contract for the 2015 Grimmell Road Lift Station Improvement Project, a second reading for an ordinance to allow no parking zones around HyVee and consider a recommendation by the Board of Adjustment to allow for a six-foot fence with barbed wire at Shelter Stor-All-Hunter Farms at 408 East Highway 30 for approval.

There will also by a recommendation from the Tourism Task Force setting up criteria for the Council to allow funding for tourism promotion with the hotel/motel tax money and a report will be given by Annette Renauld for Alliant Energy.

The meeting will be at 5:30pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.
