Bryce Smith and his family moved to Dallas County less than two decades ago, when he was four years old.

Growing up he spent a lot of time at the Adel Family Fun Center, bowling with his family and eventually working there as a teen. After graduating from Adel DeSoto Minburn High School and pursing a business degree at the University of Northern Iowa, Smith had a unique opportunity to stay with the business he had grown to know and love.

“I told (then owner Sandi Myers) ‘If you ever think about retiring and selling this place, call me first.’  So ironically about three weeks before I was graduating last year, I get a call from Sandi and she says ‘You know, I think it’s about that time.’”

After a few meetings and working with a business partner, Smith became owner and operator of the Adel Family Fun Center in January.

In addition to being a new small business owner, Smith is also passionate about politics and recently had the opportunity to participate in a roundtable discussion with presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Dallas County to hear more about that experience and why Smith feels it’s important to get involved. You can hear the program during the 9am, noon and 5pm hours on AM 1310 KDLS.
