The Guthrie County Attorney and Iowa Department of Natural Resources have decided not to file charges after one hunter shot another west of Guthrie Center last month. Guthrie County Attorney Mary Benton says all evidence points to it as being an accidental shooting. She says although no breathalyzer or blood test was administered to either individual involved, there was no evidence that alcohol was a factor in the shooting. Benton says this case also does not rise to the level necessary for criminal showing of willful disregard for human safety.
