Greene County RamsGreene County area high school seniors recently won scholarships from businesses and organizations.

Grand Junction resident Jolee Wessling is the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship from the Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA) and Noelle Gray of Jefferson won an Excellence in Agriculture scholarship for $1,500 from West Central Cooperative.

The IPPA scholarship is for any graduating senior who plans to pursue a major in an agriculture field with an interest in the pork industry.  Wessling will be attending Iowa State University (ISU) for agriculture business.  Five other students received similar scholarships.  IPPA also gives scholarships for those who are already in college.

The West Central scholarship is given to graduating high school seniors that are pursuing an agriculture-related field in college.  Some of the requirements includes having a parent in West Central and have an accumulative grade-point-average of at least 2.5.  Six other students received similar scholarships.  Gray will be attending ISU for animal science.

Both are seniors at Greene County High School.
