hiawatha classicIn addition to raising funds to support trail development in Perry, Bouton and Woodward through ride registration and sponsorships, the Hiawatha Classic committee is also selling raffle tickets.

The group has secured several prizes this year including a 42 inch television, getaway at the Hotel Pattee and a six month membership to the McCreary Community Building.

Organizer Mary Laborde says it’s important for the community to back the trail system because it brings many economic benefits and can be used by everyone.

“I’m hoping we’ll get (everyone’s support) even if you don’t ride a bike, the trail isn’t just for biking.  It’s for biking, walking, skating, and walking your dog.”

The drawing will take place before the ride on Saturday, May 16th.  Tickets can be purchased from a committee member, at the Forest Park Museum, Recreation Center or Raccoon River Valley Bicycle Company.
