Countywide library programming will continue in Dallas County after the 12 local libraries hosted another successful event this past weekend.
Perry Public Library Director Mary Murphy describes this year’s Toddler Fest as “fantastic”. After seeing almost 500 people attend the inaugural event in 2014, Murphy says the Dallas County Libraries Association knew they had to make this year’s event bigger and better, which they did.
“This year when we were planning it we expanded into two buildings and added a little petting zoo. We had just about as many vendors there (as last year). It was all about literacy, all about services that are available in Dallas County for children, mainly toddlers.”
Murphy says this year’s event was just as overwhelming, with more than 600 people in attendance, but in a good way.
She thanks the Dallas County Board of Supervisors for supporting their efforts to host countywide programs, like the Toddler Fest, by granting the Association $5,000.
The next countywide event will be Dallas County Reads One Book this fall.
