A Jefferson man has pled guilty to several charges following two vehicle thefts in March.
According to court documents, 32 year-old Andrew Lee Jensen recently changed his plea to guilty to two Class D Felonies for assault on a peace officer and third degree burglary and a serious misdemeanor for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
Charges stem from an investigation into two stolen vehicles. On March 3rd, the accused allegedly stole a vehicle from the 300 block of East Harrison Street and during that investigation, authorities found a stolen checkbook as well. Jensen allegedly stole a second vehicle on March 6th and led authorities on a short chase in Jefferson. The chase caused a police vehicle to jump a curb to avoid getting hit and it ended with the accused crashing the stolen vehicle into a tree.
Court documents show that the County has agreed to drop all other charges and Jensen has agreed to submit to the sentencing that is made in an upcoming pre-trial report.
Jensen remains in the Greene County Jail.
