The 2015 cash rental rates are out for the state of Iowa.
According to data from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Greene County had a ten percent drop from last year of an average of $282 per acre of cash rent for corn and soybeans to $252 per acre this year.
There are three categories that compare the highest, middle and lowest thirds in the County. The highest third is $298, the middle third is $260 and the lowest third is $200. Compared to last year, the highest third was $324, the middle third was $282 and the lowest third is $241.
As for the West Central region that the County is in, prices continue to decline from $288 per acre last year to $265 this year. That’s down from 2013’s high of $294 per acre for the region. Greene County is still a head of the state’s average of $246 per acre.
There were ten responses from crop producers in the County involved in the 2015 survey.
