The Iowa State University College of Design is hosting a special workshop for students in Perry this summer.
The Explore Design! Program is a one-day event that will explore identity, pattern, sculpture and product design.
The Perry PACES program will be taking part in the event, and Director Mary Hillman says it’s for youth entering sixth grade through recent high school graduates.
“There’s a huge opportunity there. So if any of your family (members) or kids out there are thinking maybe they want to go into design, the College of Design at Iowa State is just awesome. I’ve toured the building. So this would be a great opportunity to see if maybe that’s something you’d be interested in.”
The workshop takes place Wednesday, July 8th from 8:30am to 5pm at the Town/Craft Center. The cost to participate is $15, which includes snacks, lunch and materials. Registration is due by Wednesday, June 24th.
