To say the Raccoon Valley Radio will have area athletes competing at the May 21-23 High School Coed State Track & Field Championships may be a bit of an understatement. Well over 100 athletes in 87 events will be reported on by the RVR microphone on KDLS 1310 AM, KGRA 98.9 FM, and KKRF 107.9 FM from Drake Stadium in Des Moines. The breakdown between gender and school classification is below.

Class 1A girls’ events- 14

Class 1A boys’ events- 10

Class 2A girls’ events- 16

Class 2A boys’ events- 11

Class 3A girls’ events- 23

Class 3a boys’ events- 13

In addition to reports throughout the day, the opening segments of the 12:30 and 5:30 p.m. Sports News on May 21 and 22 will be dedicated to State Track & Field.
