The Perry Parks and Recreation Department is offering kids a chance to test out their speed and strength this week.
They’re hosting a Live Healthy Iowa Track Meet tomorrow at the Perry High School’s Dewey Field. The free contest is for boys and girls ages 9 to 14. The meet starts at 3pm and will run until around 5:30.
There are several events to participate in, including the 50 meter dash, 100 meter dash, 4×100 meter relay, 800 meter dash, standing long jump and softball throw.
Winners from the local contest are eligible to participate in the state meet in Marshalltown on June 13th.
Though signups will be allowed the day of, with a parent’s signature, preregistration is encouraged. To participate, stop by the McCreary Community Building or call 465-5621.
