The Jefferson City Council met last night in regular session.
The Council approved to sale its general obligation urban renewal bonds for utility work and for the tax increment financing district to not exceed $3 million. The Council also approved a general obligation reimbursement bond of $300,000 for the Jefferson Community Golf Course. Both will be out for sale on June 9th at 11am.
The Council approved June 9th’s meeting as a public hearing date to change zoning classification to a planned unit development for a housing development at the Water Tower Subdivision site.
The Council approved $3,863,747 in revenues and $3,769,770 in expenses as an amendment to its 2014 fiscal year budget following a public hearing. The Council also approved a contract with Neese Incorporated to remove sludge from the wastewater plant at $.5 per gallon, a contract with Blacktop Service Company to seal coat some streets and alleys in the north part of the City for $49,543.64 and a three-year contract with its current auditor for $38,625.
The meeting ended in a quarterly workshop with Jefferson Matters: Main Street. Program Director Peg Raney updated the Council on a few projects that are upcoming. A reception for the rooftop art display will be on June 6th, they are hosting a Greene Bell Pepper Challenge during this year’s Bell Tower Festival and hosting the Regional Open 4 Business competition at City Hall on June 22nd.
