Rain gauge totals in Guthrie and Greene counties measured at approximately an inch after storms blasted through the region Sunday morning. The National Weather Service reports that a trained storm spotter near Churdan measured wind speeds upwards of 55 miles per hour during the storm. Despite the high winds, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office says there have been no reports of damage from the storm. Nearly 100 homes were without power in western Greene County Sunday morning. The Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives reports that service for those customers has been restored.
