Coming off their fourth appearance at the state tournament in the last five years, the ADM boys soccer team received more recognition on Sunday, when four Tigers were named to the Raccoon River Conference All-Conference teams. Two others given honorable mention.

Derek Gushiken, Connor Luther and Noah Bardwell were named to the first team and Brett Buscher to the second team. Juniors Daniel Finnegan and Bryce Godwin each received honorable mention.

Gushiken, a senior, finished tied for 3rd in Class 2A with 30 goals, shattering his previous career high of 7 set back in his sophomore year. Playing on a torn meniscus for the bulk of the season, he also chipped in seven assists, tying him for the team lead with Bardwell, a junior who had six goals of his own.

Luther a senior helped anchor a strong Tigers backline that allowed just 20 goals in 21 games. Buscher, also a senior, shined in his only season as ADM’s starting keeper, posting a .800 save percentage and 1.11 goals-against average.

Finnegan finished with eight goals and four assists, while Godwin had three goals and six assists.

The Tigers (16-5) lost 1-0 to Cedar Rapids-Xavier in the first round of the state tournament on Thursday. They finished second in the Raccoon River Conference to Perry.
