Minor injuries and vehicle damage were the result of a single vehicle accident in Greene County on Monday.

Sheriff Steve Haupert says at 11:38am, the Greene County Emergency Medical Services, Jefferson Fire Department, deputies and the Iowa State Patrol responded to a one vehicle crash on 170th Street, just east of Iowa Highway 4.  21 year-old Katie Leroa Halligan of Jefferson was traveling west on 170th Street when she lost control of her 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass, entered the south ditch, and ramped up into a bean field.

Haupert notes that Halligan was transported by Greene County EMS to the Greene County Medical Center for lower back pain.  She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The vehicle sustained about $500 in damages and it was driven from the field.

Haupert adds that possible charges are pending completion of their investigation into why she lost control of her vehicle.
