Construction of brand-new senior living apartments is expected to begin this month in Guthrie Center. The New Homestead Senior Community at 2306 State St. will feature one and two bedroom apartments. Executive Director Ethan Walton says the facility will include luxuries like a fitness center and climate controlled parking garages. The New Homestead has been serving Guthrie Center since 1965 and a celebration is scheduled to take place in September to celebrate 50 years of service.
