The Coon Rapids-Bayard High School baseball team is the 5th best team in Class 1-A, according to Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association rankings released Monday. At the time of ranking, the Crusaders had a 10-0 record and feature one of the best pitchers in the state this season. Junior Josh Esdohr has allowed just 1 hit and zero earned runs in 17 innings this season, while striking out 23 batters. No other Guthrie County or West Central Activities Conference teams were named in the rankings.
