Victoria Hegstrom’s 2-run home run was not enough last night as Carlisle scored 10 runs over the final three innings to defeat Perry 14-3 in Raccoon River Conference softball action. The Wildcats hit a pair of home runs in the top of the seventh with Agatha Beier and Abby Davis launching long ones. The Wildcats out hit Perry 16 to 3. Hegstrom connected for her first home run of the season in the 6th inning and Alyssa Kruger added her 2nd triple of the season. Sophomore Emma Olejniczak went the distance for Perry allowing 16 hits and 8 earned runs with 2 strikeouts.
Perry falls to 1-7 and 1-4 in RRC action while Carlisle jumps to 12-1 and 4-0 in conference play. Perry will return to action tonight at 3rd ranked and unbeaten Greene County. You can listen to the game on KG 98.9 beginning at 7:30.
