An abnormal amount of missing flowers, plants and other commemorative items placed around graves for the Memorial Day holiday was a topic of discussion for Guthrie Center City Council Members Monday night. Public Works Director Bob Secoy says he received numerous complaints from individuals this year, believing their memorials were stolen from gravesites. Concerned with the matter, council members will research the price of installing some trail cameras at the cemetery and research other deterrents as well. Councilman Roger Underwood says he has heard of such theft at other area cemeteries, but until now it has not been a notable issue in Guthrie Center.
