The Bully Project In Greene County (B.I.G.) have announced the winner of its t-shirt design contest.
Co-Chair Cheryl Diderickson says 14 year-old Jasmine Blumberg from Grand Junction won the contest. She came up with the slogan, “I’d rather by ME than a BULLY” which will be on the back of the shirt. On the front will be the anti-bullying organization’s name. The colors of the t-shirt are blue text on an orange shirt. Diderickson points out that those are the colors that identify anti-bullying awareness. All those who entered the contest will receive a free t-shirt. Participants ranged from elementary to high school ages and were from Jefferson, Rippey and Grand Junction areas.
The group will have an informational booth set up at the Bell Tower Festival of how to identify bullying, tips on how to handle it and other ways that bullying can be alleviated. Plus, t-shirt order forms will be available.
B.I.G. is also working on coordinating an awareness walk in October with Ask Resource from Johnston. More information about the walk will be released at a later date.
