Tickets are still available for History Boy Theatre’s summer production of Stephen Sondheim’s “Company.”
Co-Director Robby Pedersen says the 40 year-old show tells the story of Robert, who lives in New York, and is a professional marriage avoider. Pedersen’s character is consistently hanging out with his married friends who always ask him when he’s going to get married. Pedersen talks about how this comedy is relatable to everyone.
“It’s not like slap-stick humor. It’s smart humor, it’s sophisticated. And anyone who’s been in a relationship, or married, or been married, you’re just going to relate to everything these people (in the play) say about the pros and cons of being married. It’s been called the great show about marriage.”
The cast includes 14 people, which Pedersen adds is the most that they’ve ever had for their shows. Plus, Greene County High School Vocal Director David Heupel is directing the vocals.
It will be on June 12th through the 14th and the 19th through the 21st. Friday and Saturday’s shows are at 7pm and Sunday’s shows are at 2pm. Tickets are $15 each and doors will open 30 minutes before each performance. To purchase a ticket, contact Co-Director Angie Pedersen at 515-370-4306 or message them on their facebook page.
