national weather serviceA flood warning remains in effect for the North Raccoon River near Perry.

According to the National Weather Service, the warning area stretches from the Greene and Dallas County line to Adel. Originally scheduled to last until early Tuesday, the warning is now scheduled to expire Monday morning.

As of 7:45pm Sunday, the river was estimated to be around 15.5 feet, or half a foot above flood stage.  Minor flooding is occurring now, though the river levels are expected to begin to fall tonight and be below flood stage by Monday morning.

Impacted areas listed in the warning include farmland floods and the waste water treatment facility in Perry and the fairgrounds and golf course in Adel, along with Sportsman’s Club Road and the Midland Trail northwest of Adel.
