A three vehicle accident results in one person injured in Greene County on Tuesday.
According to the crash report from the Iowa State Patrol, at 1:48pm, 58 year-old Patricia Peters of Carroll was traveling west on US Highway 30 when her 2008 Chevrolet Impala crossed the centerline near mile marker 111 and hit an eastbound 2014 Peterbuilt Semi that was driven by 52 year-old William Moffett of Crane, Missouri.
The report shows that after the Impala hit the driver’s side of the semi, a third vehicle, a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe that was driven by 27 year-old Paul Daggett of Minburn, was behind the Impala and swerved to avoid the collision. Daggett’s vehicle went into the north ditch where he lost control and rolled the Tahoe. Peters’ Impala came to a rest facing the northwest on the north shoulder while the semi came to a rest in a corn field north of the highway.
Peters was transported by Greene County Emergency Medical Services to Greene County Medical Center with injuries. Her current status is unknown at this time. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident. No information was given if the other two individuals were wearing their seatbelts.
The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
