Despite ending over a month after it was scheduled to, the 2015 legislative session may be remembered most for what didn’t happen during it, more so than for what did happen. While fireworks legalization, an increased minimum wage, legalized medical marijuana and an anti-bullying bill all seemed like possibilities at different points throughout the session, none of those items ended up becoming law. State Representative Clel Baudler says one bill he was surprised to see die, was one which would legalize gun silencers. “We didn’t get the omnibus gun bill through the Senate. It was very bipartisan in the House the three times we voted on it. It was in standings also and went nowhere.”
We’ll wrap up our discussion with Baudler today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County, reviewing the 2015 legislative session. It airs during the 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. hours on K107.9 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com
