Those in the Perry area who want to get rid of old appliances and scrap metal have the opportunity to do so this weekend.
Deputy Public Works Director Josh Wuebker says the company they’ve worked with in the past is no longer around, but H and W Recycling will continue to provide the service to area residents.
“You can bring your appliances out to the recycle center all free of charge, the only thing they really charge for is televisions and computer monitors and that’s a pretty reasonable rate.”
Items that will be accepted for free include things like dishwashers, video game systems, copiers, riding mowers and exercise equipment. However, you cannot drop off appliances filled with food, chemicals or paint, carpet or wood furniture, water softeners, propane tanks, plastics, garbage or tires.
The drop off event takes place Saturday from 8am until noon and there will be people on hand to help with unloading.
