A strong case can be made that West Central Valley’s Bryce Kearns is the best pitcher in Class 2-A baseball. Despite his record of 3-2, his metrics are phenomenal. Kearn’s walks or hits allowed per inning pitched is .68, the 3rd best in the class among pitchers who have tossed as many innings as him. This is essence means that in any given inning that Kearns is on the mound, there is a 32% chance that a runner is not going to reach base by way of a walk or a hit. Additionally, Kearn’s  .28 earned run average is the second best among pitchers in the class with as many innings, and he’s just behind Wilton’s Javin Drake who has .25 era. The Wildcat senior is exciting to watch too. He strikes out every other batter he faces and his 45 ks are in the top 8 in the class.
