Governor Terry Branstad and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds will be making a stop in Perry Monday to hold their weekly press conference.
The duo and their administration will gather with members of the media at Van Wall Equipment at 10am. During that time, Governor Branstad will be signing House File 655, or the “Connect Every Acre” bill into law.
The broadband internet bill was passed by the state legislature during this year’s session, including a 90-5 vote in the House.
Broadband internet is an issue Governor Branstad has said is a priority since last year. During his 2015 Condition of the State Address he said “The Fabric of our state is woven together by the gravel roads and the interstate system, but in this day and age it also must be connected through access to broadband as well.”
Raccoon Valley Radio news will bring you a recap of the event after it happens.
