Two teens were injured in a tubing accident in Guthrie County Saturday.
According to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, three females, ages 15, 16 and 19 were on a three-person tube being pulled behind a boat on Lake Panorama Saturday afternoon. The tube hit a wave and all three teens were thrown into the water around 2:30pm.
The youngest girl was air lifted to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines to be treated for a head injury, the 16 year old also received stitches at Mercy Medical Center after being taken there by a private car. She has since been treated and released.
The DNR says they believe the two injured teens bumped heads when the tube flipped over after hitting the wave.
The boat was being driven by 54 year-old David Furbush of Clive.
The status of the youngest girl is not known at this time. Raccoon Valley Radio will continue to bring you more information as it becomes official.
