ADM scored three in the third and four in the sixth as the home team, as Kate Collins finished 2-for-2 with a homer, run scored and two RBI and Kenzi Sutton went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs and one driven in. Collins put the Tigers ahead 2-0 in third with her third homer of the year, a two-run blast to left-center that scored Gabbie Glenn. In the fifth, ADM’s first five hitters reached base, four via singles and one via error, with Shannan Jones, Glenn, Jacobsen and Sutton all scoring.
Game 2: ADM 11, South Hamilton 2 (4 innings)
The bats came alive early in this one, ADM scoring six runs in the first and five in the second. ADM’s top three in the lineup of Glenn, Collins and Jacobsen finished a combined 6-for-11 with three doubles, five runs and three driven in. Taylor Boorn capped off the six-run first with her fourth homer of the year, a three-run bomb to center. All but two of ADM’s starters failed to record a hit.
Jacobsen drove in two with a double in the first and scored on Kila Carbine’s run-scoring single three batters later, setting up Boorn’s homer. In the second, Glenn lead off with a single and scored on an error. Collins singled and scored on Jacobsen’s double, and Jacobsen then scored on Carbine’s second run-scoring hit in as many innings. After Boorn popped out to second, Jones finished the Tigers’ scoring for the game with a two-run single to center.
The Tigers (18-3) return to conference play Monday at Carroll, with first pitch around 7:30 p.m.
