Water continues to recede, which results in two of our four river reporting areas are below flood stage.

According to the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers as of 1pm Friday, the North Raccoon River near Jefferson is slowly decreasing and is currently at 14.36 feet or about four-and-a-half feet below flood stage of 19 feet.

Buttrick Creek near Grand Junction has dropped over four feet since yesterday and is less than one-and-half feet below flood stage.

The North Raccoon River near Perry has increased to over four feet above flood stage.  The Middle Raccoon River near Bayard is now over eight feet above flood stage.

River flood warnings are in effect throughout the area until Sunday morning.
