Emily Harney of Granger will serve as the 2015 Dallas County Fair Queen.
The 19 year-old daughter of Matt and LeAnne Harney was crowned Tuesday evening at the annual coronation ceremony at the fairgrounds in Adel. Harney is a 2015 graduate of Dallas Center-Grimes High School where she was involved in a variety of activities including choir, student council, cheerleading and FFA. She plans to study graphic and web design in the fall.
2014 Dallas County Fair Princess Katelyn Wilderdyke of Adel will keep her title for another year. She is the 19 year-old daughter of Eric and Stefanie Wilderdyke.
Other queen candidates were 17 year-old Alexa Nielsen of Dexter, the daughter of Quentin and Angie Nielsen, and 18 year-old Alexa Sandon of Clive, the daughter of Steven Sandon.
Harney’s duties as queen include several appearances throughout this year’s county fair and representing Dallas County in the Iowa State Fair Queen contest next month.
