Pella defeated Perry in the softball regular season finale Tuesday night at the PAC 9-2.  The Jayettes close out the regular season with a record of 15-18 and will set their sights on Boone tomorrow night in a 7:00 Regional opener.  Pella jumped out early scoring a pair in the first and followed it up with three more in the third and fourth.  Sarah Tallman entered the game hitting .629 and added to that total finishing with 3 runs scored and 3 more stolen bases to give her 51 on the season.

Emma Olejniczak allowed 10 hits in 7 innings but struck out 10 Little Dutch batters.  She finished the season with an impressive 255 strike outs in 192 innings worked.

Perry managed 7 hits on the night with 6 of those hits coming in the final 3 innings.  Alyssa Krueger and Olejniczak knocked in the Perry runs.

Senior Kate Whelchel was honored before the start of the game.  She has been a 5 year player for Perry and a 13 year participant with the Perry Youth Softball Association.  She plans on playing at Buena Vista and returning in the summer to coach her younger sisters in the Perry Youth Softball Association.
