Greene County is a big favorite tonight as they enter Class 3A Region 8 softball play in Jefferson on KG98 vs. Pocahontas Area, which is a role the Rams haven’t been in. Last year Coach Tom Kennedy’s team was unranked and played six postseason games against teams rated number 12 or higher and the Rams won five of those and finished third in the State Tournament. This time it is Greene County with the lofty ranking, at number four. Coach Kennedy’s Rams have a 27-6 record and won the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference title by four games over the second place team. Poki is 7-16 and finished 3-7 in the Twin Lakes Conference.
