hot-sun-thermometerThough we’ve had a lot of mild and wet weather over the past few weeks, the temperature will be back into the 90s this weekend. Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf reminds citizens who spend a lot of time outside or don’t have air conditioning, that when the temperature approaches triple digits, it’s a good idea to find someplace cool to hang out. “Getting out, going to the library, the mall, the grocery store, things like that. Go someplace cooler. Communities have their activity centers, card groups that meet and things like that. Just going to visit a neighbor that does have air conditioning is a good thing to do.”

Kempf also recommends limiting alcohol intake and drinking plenty of water on hot summer days.
