The Guthrie County Sheriff’s office is seeking the public’s assistance in searching for an escaped prisoner from Fort Des Moines Correctional Facility. Chief Deputy Jeremy Bennett says 30 year old Joseph LeClair was serving time on a criminal mischief conviction when he escaped on  May 18th of this year. He is highly suspected to be in the Stuart area.  Officers spotted and pursued him on the evening of July 8th, 2015 near Highway 25 and White Pole Road, but he was able to escape into a cornfield. LeClair is 5’6″, weighs 130 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. Anybody with any information on the whereabouts of LeClair is asked to call the Guthrie County Sheriff’s office at 641-747-2214.
