perry signThose looking to enjoy the outdoors this summer have several free options in the Perry area.

Parks and Recreation Director John Anderson encourages the community to take advantage of the many amenities.

“I’d say our biggest thing is the nine hole disc golf course that is heavily used all the time.  If you’ve never played, it’s a good time and it’s a good looking course.  There’s the tennis courts and the sand volleyball courts, that’s all free stuff for people to use.  So we can’t advertise that stuff enough, to get outside and enjoy this wonderful summer that we have.”

Plus, Anderson says there are several shelter houses available for to rent for any sort of organized or casual event.

“It’s a great place to bring your family.  Reserve a shelter, have a picnic, just to get outside and enjoy the whole entire park.  It’s a really good opportunity to get your family out and about.”

For more information on how to reserve a shelter or take advantage of the any of these amenities, stop by the McCreary Community Building or call 465-5621.
