Saturday is a fun filled day at the Greene County Fair.

The day starts with the 4-H and FFA beef and bucket calf show at 8am at the showring followed by the baby contest at 9:30am in Clover Hall with registrations to begin at 9am.  The commercial and historical society buildings will be open at 10am.

The afternoon activities begin with the kids pedal pull at noon followed by the Share the Fun contest in Clover Hall at 1pm.  Greene County’s Iowa State University Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Sarah Jo Reynolds talks about the acts for this year’s Share the Fun.

“We have three entries this year.  We have two piano solos that will be happening and then we also have a reader’s theater put on by a group of girls.  So I’m pretty excited to see what they all bring and I know they’ve got a lot of talent.”

Other activities include the horse fun show at 2pm at the showring, a watermelon eating contest at the commercial building at 3pm and a pork and lamb barbecue meal will be served at 5:30pm in the bus barn by the Greene County Pork and Lamb Producers, followed by the grandstand entertainment with the Professional Pull League Tractor and Truck Pull at 7pm.

Plus all weekend long, people can enjoy a balloon and magic act from Poppin’ Penelope, The Whip Guy-Chris Camp will perform at various times, plus the open class hall and Clover Cafe will be open all day long throughout the weekend.

KGRA will also be broadcasting live everyday of the fair through Sunday in Clover Cafe.
