Greene County and Kuemper Catholic meet in Jefferson tonight in a Class 3A Region 8 softball tournament semifinal. The winner of the contest at the City Diamond on East Lincolnway advances to the Monday, July 13 Region 8 final in Stuart at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 13.

The Rams are 28-6 and ranked fourth in Class 3A while the Knights are 20-13. Greene County won its Region 8 opener on Wednesday 10-2 over Pocahontas Area while Kuemper out scored East Sac County (Lake View) in nine innings, 21-17. The two teams have not previously met. The Rams won the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference title while the Knights were seventh in the 11-team Hawkeye 10 Conference.
