The Greene County Chamber has a new Tourism and Events Coordinator.

Angie Pedersen is no stranger to tourism.  She and her husband Robby, own RVP-1875, which is an 1800’s furniture store, along with History Boy Theatre Company, which won the Outstanding Tourism Business from the Iowa Tourism Conference in 2013.  Pedersen was recently the Bell Tower Festival Coordinator for the 36th annual celebration last month, which made $8,000.

Pedersen says her heavy involvement in tourism one was of the driving factors behind why she wanted to be the tourism and events coordinator for the Chamber.

“It just kind of became obvious that the Chamber was willing to put forth the effort to make of these resources available to everybody (and) all the businesses.  So the reason why I wanted to do it is because I know I can because I’ve done it for RVP(-1875) and History Boy (Theatre Company) so I can just do it for everybody else too.”

Board President Omega Sang is looking forward to Pedersen’s enthusiasm and energy to promote both tourism and events and growing that industry.

Due to Pedersen’s commitment to RVP and History Boy Theatre, her time is reduced from 40-hours per week to 32-hours.

Pedersen’s new job takes effect today.
