An event tomorrow in Dexter will entertain and inform visitors about famed robbers Bonnie and Clyde’s escapades around west central Iowa. Organizer Rod Stanley will give a presentation on their time in the Dexter area and says cars and weapons from the 1920’s and 30’s will be on display. Thanks to the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Clyde Barrow’s favorite weapon, a Browning Automatic Rifle, will also be on display. “They (the Iowa DCI) do have a Browning (Automatic Rifle) down there and we will bring that out there that day. We’ll also have a Thompson Submachine Gun, known as a Tommy Gun, out there as well. The Browning was an amazing weapon, though, it shot 20 rounds in about two seconds.”
The event runs from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday in Dexter. Rod will tell us more about it today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County. It airs during the 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. hours on K107.9 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com
